Welcome to the Nominal Roll of Vietnam Veterans.
The Nominal Roll of Vietnam Veterans lists approximately 61 000 men and women who served in the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Australian Army and Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in Vietnam, or in the waters adjacent to Vietnam, during the conflict between 23 May 1962 and 29 April 1975. You can seek information on these members using the Search function.
This website also contains the names of more than 1 600 Australian civilians who were awarded or were eligible to receive the Vietnam Logistics and Support Medal (VLSM). You can seek information on civilian participants at this page .
The compilation of this roll would not have been possible without the generous assistance provided by the records staff of the Australian War Memorial, Department of Defence and the National Archives of Australia.
The Department of Veterans' Affairs intends to include on the website the names of the crews of HMA Ships Quickmatch and Vampire . These two ships visited Saigon during the period 25 to 29 January 1962, and those personnel assigned for service during this period have been granted operational service under the Veterans Entitlement Act 1986. However, the ships' lists for this period have been lost and the crew lists are incomplete. If you served on HMA Ships Quickmatch and Vampire during this period please send your details to nominal.rolls@dva.gov.au or telephone 1300 780 133 (Local call charge).
Individuals have been given an opportunity to have their service details excluded from the website prior to it being published. More detailed information about this, and the roll, is available at About this Nominal Roll. Please contact us if you have any feedback about this site.
